“Kolobok” — A Ukrainian Folk Tale Comes to Life on Stage
“Kolobok” is a joyful, colorful, and musical family performance based on the beloved Ukrainian folk tale.
At the heart of the story is little Kolobok, a round little bun baked by Grandma from the flour she gathered from the pantry. But curious and adventurous Kolobok does not want to sit quietly on the windowsill. He sets off on a journey and soon meets a Rabbit, a Wolf, a Bear, and a clever Fox. Each encounter becomes a new adventure as this familiar story comes to life through theatrical play, music, songs, and humor.
Our “Kolobok” is more than a retelling of a well-known fairy tale. We have created our own colorful stage adaptation, where Ukrainian traditions, folk culture, music, and songs play a central role.
The performance features Honored Artist of Ukraine Liudmyla Kolosovych, who brings young audiences into the magical world of Ukrainian folk tales. Colorful characters, humor, movement, music, and authentic Ukrainian folk melodies make this production lively, engaging, and memorable.
Through Kolobok’s journey, children not only follow his exciting adventures but also discover Ukrainian culture, music, traditions, and folk art.
“Kolobok” is a story everyone knows—but on our stage, it comes alive in a new way: colorful, joyful, authentically Ukrainian, and created with love for our cultural heritage.
