The International Day of Charity is observed every year on September 5.
It is an official United Nations international day established to raise awareness of the importance of charity, volunteering, and humanitarian assistance, and to encourage individuals, organizations, and communities to support those in need.
The United Nations officially proclaimed September 5 as the International Day of Charity through General Assembly Resolution A/RES/67/105. The first observance took place on September 5, 2013. Why September 5?The date was chosen in honor of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who died on September 5, 1997. She dedicated much of her life to helping people living in poverty and difficult circumstances. In 1979, she received the Nobel Peace Prize for her work in addressing poverty and suffering. Let’s Get Together Around One Table!
We invite Ukrainians to join us for a warm and friendly POTLUCK dinner! Bring your favorite homemade dish and share it with everyone.We’ve just returned from our American tour, and we would love to share our adventures, stories, impressions, and emotions from meeting Ukrainian communities in different cities across the country.It will be delicious, warm, fun, and truly Ukrainian!Come join us to talk, laugh, share memories, and spend a wonderful evening together.
